life of a globetrotting family of 5 in the US foreign service
52 weeks at Post: Smile like you mean it…
One year’s gone by since we first arrived in La Paz, for our 2-year assignment with the Foreign Service.
Looking back at sunsets on the east side
We lost track of the time
Dreams aren’t what they used to be
Some things sat by so carelessly
Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it…
[that’s exactly how my husband and I see ourselves! We’re just sitting up there, watching the world go by, and quite often, criticizing the way it moves!] ๐ฎ

Smile like you mean it…
We’ve got mixed feelings regarding our present. Our future is still blurry. And yet, we’ll keep on smiling at life… smiling like we mean it…
Let’s see what the future has in-store for us…ย โฅ Will keep you posted. ๐ฎ
Welcome! Here I am, 'releasing' my thoughts on traveling, parenting, raising TCKs, teaching, writing, working... and who knows what else! Iโm a WIFE, 'geeky-stuff' SCIENTIST, TEACHER, AMATEUR photographer, MOM of 3, TRAVELER by choice and by marriage, and of course, a HOUSEHOLD QUEEN!!

Your reference to the old Muppet hecklers in the balcony crack me up … miss you & your family … miss chatting with you! Good luck with bidding season
Cherise, the 2 guys are Chico and I – for sure! That’s pretty much who we are… cynical people… ๐ฎ We love judging life and ‘suggesting’ better ways to run with it! ๐ฎ
I know, I know… thanks for the support… it’s just that when this ‘bidding season’ comes around, when the list of possible post assigments is presented to you, and a joint decision has to be made, it’s always tough… it’s a mix of excitement with fear… concern… all at the same time! ๐ฎ
On another thought, I guess we’ll be discussing the ‘infamous’ foreign service bid list over some wine… sorry folks, but the ones who’ve been there, who’ve faced the anxiety and frustration related to bidding-waiting-finding out where you’re going to will definitely understand where I’m coming from… ๐ฎ Good luck to us all!!!!

Whatever your present and future is, with your family it is unlikely in the extreme to be boring!
