Snapshots of Artistic Expressions in La Paz. Part III: Mujeres Artistas.

Tomorrow, March 8, it’s Women’s International Day. Bolivia, like many other countries, is honoring all women with a full month of celebration and recognition. In the capital, La Paz, it’s possible to appreciate the artistic works of several gifted women, through painting and photography – and luckily, a couple of the artists presenting their pieces are friends of ours, and members of the US community here. Congratulations, ladies! 😮

563279_10151470777444861_1451982059_nSpanish: La galería Alternativa inauguró el sábado la muestra Mujeres artistas con obras pictóricas de Mirta Cwirko, Carolina Lovo, Mónica Rina Mamani, Rosmery Mamani, Guiomar Mesa, Laura Miller, Susan Scanlon y Cecilia Wilde, las esculturas en cerámica de Corina Barreto y los trabajos en metal de Marcela Mérida.

Con un total de 40 obras realizadas en diferentes formatos, técnicas y con una amplia variedad de temática, esta muestra estará abierta al público paceño hasta el 22 de marzo.

    Happy International Women’s Day :o) This post by one of my favourite bloggers – 3rdculturechildren – helps to celebrate the talent of one of many talented women as her role as an artist, wife,, mother and friend. I love the way in which we can appreciate a woman’s many roles in her everyday life – but we should be appreciating each other all the time. Please give thanks & appreciation to the women in your life today, and spread the Word that Today is International Women’s Day.

    1. Yes, I’m assuming most of them are watercolor, if not them all… I can ask the artist and get back to you… she takes pictures/photos of interesting scenarios throughout the countries she’s lived in, and then paints them… 😮 Thanks for stopping by, and for the interest!
