“Two Subjects”. That’s the inspiration for this week’s photo challenge from WordPress. This “theme” is more of a composition challenge, than the usual single themes we’re used to post about. Let’s see how this week’s compositions turn out… mix of natural and man-made two-subject themes…

I love the contrast between the shells and the twigs – smooth, linear, and light strings of shells against the rough, round, and dark twigs. Also, the sunset photo of the 2000 Jubilee is beautiful!

What a wonderful collection on the two subjects theme. The hippo made me smile … and was a nice contrast to the architectural shots. Thanks for sharing!

Everyone loves the hippo! It’s from an earlier post (part of the Brennand Museum Gardens (https://3rdculturechildren.com/2012/04/02/gardens-sculptures-brennand/). Thanks for taking the time to read and share your thoughts…

That’s exactly what they are, Connie! They’re live-size pictures from the Brennand Museum, in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil… here is one of the posts on the museum & castle: https://3rdculturechildren.com/2012/04/02/gardens-sculptures-brennand/
And, you’re right about the dolls: They look “scarily real”… 😮

I’m about as far from a religious person as you can get, but I love the second photo. The composition and lighting are captured quite well.

But I suppose being religious or not has nothing to do with a good photo does it?

Absolutely… I myself have beautiful photos of mosques in Mozambique, muslin ladies (Mozambique Island), Indonesian ceremonies, catholic events… a good photograph should transcend social/religious barriers, right? 😮

Exactly! It’s all about the art. I feel sorry for people who can’t see that.

I totally agree! The intention was not religious… but I loved the image of the old church (2nd plane) with the Jubilee Cross in front of it (1st plane)… really liked the composition… Thanks for sharing your impressions, Jeff! 😮
