Learning Math and having fun while doing it? Humm…
Another activity for children, organized by our kids’ school. And why this? A different way to honor and motherhood, celebrating Mother’s Day, showing the children’s appreciation for all the heartfelt work and effort every mom offers freely…

This time, all the moms were involved, as well! First graders had the opportunity to enjoy quality time with their moms (it was Mother´s Day Week at the School!), show their knowledge of the ´strategy game´, creating links with real mathematical situations… all that while playing with their classmates! Could it be any better?

Thank you very much!
The kids loved the experience – a very unique way to celebrate and honor Mother’s Day at school!

Now, THAT is a chessboard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the queen start yelling, ‘Off with his head!’ or have to go on a boating expedition between squares.

That looks like it was a fun experience for all. I love tools that teach without really trying. Great pictures!

Are they adding laptops to the classrooms? I just found out they are doing so in Panama.

As far as I know, not here… My son is a first grader, and his class work is all hands-on, copying, writing… Traditional notebooks, no laptops, though!
thanks fr sharing your thoughts, Marcia!
