That’s so cool. Right now, my local art academy is showing off the students’ visual arts. One student’s art is displayed right out side the academy and it looks almost exactly like your photo. I thought that was interesting. LOL

Apparently, the low entry was to prevent from losing heat to the exterior… :o one had to crawl in… Thanks for checking it out!

can you tell how they are made? What the base is and what they are like to stay in?

our family did not stay in, we had another couple of friends who decided to spend the night there… I have pics of the other ‘model’. We chose… Inside, they’re equipped for a couple to spend the night, with a full bed… They’re made of baoba wood, tree leaves, adobe… Not very warm inside.. Originally, they’d be kept warm inside by using the cooking area, on the floor, and hot stones… Thanks do much for your interest! I will try to bring more info about this ‘unusual’ lodging setting, and update the post… :o

here, it’s a ‘hotel room’ in a Park, so, it’s been remodeled to attend guests… It’s got a one-bedroom facilities, but the original bee-hives would have a place to sleep, on the floor, and a cooking area (rocks on the floor, metal frame)… This one here, now is displayed for tourists, and their amusement… thanks for your interest!

Having grown up in South Africa, and visiting Swaziland often as a child this is not unusual at all to me… But yes, quite bizarre to the western world.
