- Had to share this. Very popular song right now, in Brazil – especially among the younger crowd (my kids love the song – they’re actually learning how to use sign language, because of the song!)

Great example of using LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) to “perform” Michel Telo‘s song! This group of speech therapists did a pretty good job using the sign language, bringing the song to life. Check the video out!
“Ai se eu te pego”…
and in English, the funny version, “If I catch You”… the “English version” may not be perfect, but is interesting enough, just to watch….

brasileiro? latino? no speak americano?? click!

It’s incredibly popular here in Peru, as well. Amusing, since about 99% of everyone singing it has no idea what it means. I also speak Portuguese and everyone in the office was asking me what does it mean, “ai se eu te pego” while they were thrusting their hips. haha
To give you an idea how popular it is: At the company Christmas party the owner pushed me up on stage and told me to sing it, karaoke style. I am sure there is video floating around out there somewhere…

That’s great! And funny! Thanks you so much for sharing.. I can only imagine!!! Here in Brazil, it’s a fever, as you may know very well, including among the expat community, whose members would dance to its tunes and moves, without a lot of knowledge about the lyrics.. it’s hilarious, and simply fantastic… it really stuck… I’m picturing now your office party and the karaoke part… and it’s cracking me up! Thank you for making my morning! Greetings from Recife!
