Weekly Photo Challenge: Waiting

02 Dec

This week’s inspiration is “waiting”. Here is my interpretation:

Waiting…

Portuguese tiles cover this unique street traffic light in Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil

[and the update]: going…

…after the long wait, now we all may go! :o

Wow. That is a cool stop light. Never seen one like it and would find it interesting to spend some ‘wait’ time seeing. Great capture. : )

    Well!
Except if someone stays right in the middle of the crossing… It happened to me earlier! Really frustrating :)

Incredible! I am sure we all wouldn’t mind waiting at the old stop light if we had a something pretty like that to look at when the light changes from yellow to red! Great picture for “waiting”!

      December 4, 2011 at 9:27 pm

The lights are very nice, indeed. And for me, the best part is that, it wasn’t really “necessary” to have a decorated traffic light – people don’t really expect to see beauty on mundane things – but sure it’s great to be able to appreciate these little bits of beauty… when you least expect them! :o

Is it weird that these stop lights make me jealous? Haha I just want them in my town and it definitely wouldn’t be as miserable waiting for them to turn green. Cool pictures!!!

Yes, for sure. Have you posted on street art in Brazil as yet? If not, would love to see some of it! I have posted a bit on it in Brooklyn and Queens (NY) though the ‘art’ isn’t anywhere as elaborate as these street lights. I just love them!

It would be chaotic if we didn’t have lights here… people really need to know when to stop… when to wait… and to wait a bit more for slow cars.. and when to move! :o Thanks for commenting! :o

Totally agree, Mike. I’ve got the other one, as well – showing the “green/go” light… but since the theme was waiting… decided to go with the stop sign one… Thanks for commenting! :o

I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog – posting about our time here in Brazil has proving to be an exciting experience… Currently, I challenged myself with a post a day until Christmas, displaying images of our “tropical holiday season”… let’s see… :o Good to know that now you’re more excited about a possibility to travel.. Brazil is a great place to vacation… Cheers!
